It will be interesting today to see what Portland does with their 4 picks in the 2nd round. If the 2006 draft is any indication, Portland has done their homework and they might be able to pick a sleeper at #37. They also might be wheelin' and dealin'.
Portland traded up to get Fernandez and Koponen, so apparently they must really want these two. Fernandez sounds like a good acquisition, but I'm not sure why they chose Koponen over the likes of Gabe Pruitt, Glen Davis, etc...
Portland's second round picks are wise choices. Byars and McRoberts have real potential in the pros.
I think they might have been too hasty to trade Randolph, although his immature attitude was a problem, and the trade does give Portland more salary flexibility. But now do the Blazers have anyone who can replace Zach's skills on offense? Portland might be looking down the road to prepare for the potential acquisition of a big-time forward after the 2008 season is complete.
Congrats to Ducks fans for Brooks going in the first round. I think he will have a good career in the pros as a role-player for teams who don't need him to score a lot.

Hey Don,
I think they be wheelin and dealin! Possibly trading two picks and/or Zach Randolph for another first-rounder...but we will see...

Never mind about Byars -- I see he is going to Philly as part of the deal for Koponen.
