Report: Angels' Nick Adenhart Killed in Auto Crash

A report early this morning says that Angels rookie pitcher Nick Adenhart was killed in a car crash early Thursday morning. TMZ reports that Adenhart's sports car was struck when a van ran through a red light at an intersection, sending the car into a light pole. The driver of the van then sped off, turning the accident into a felony hit-and-run. The driver of the van was later apprehended.

The accident came just hours after Adenhart's start against the Oakland A's in which he pitched six strong innings. It was just his fourth major league start.
Adenhart's death has apparently been confirmed by his family, as well as local news sources.
